These charming ceramic seals are individually handmade by John Parkes of Animal Friends. His hand-modelling technique means each seal is unique, subtly different from any other.
John says: "My work is all hand-made to original designs in my studio near Land’s End. Each seal is shaped individually from a ball of stoneware clay to give a distinctive character and attitude, based on study and observation. After an initial firing they are decorated with clay slips, oxides and glazes and finally fired to about 1100 degrees. This free and flexible approach allows me to create an interesting and varied collection based on observations of wild seals off the Cornish Coast."
*Please note* We have provided these photographs as a guide only - because these items are hand made you may receive a seal/seals which are similar to the picture, but not exactly the same.
