This magnificent, one-of-a-kind, wooden humpback whale was hand made by local artist Nic Newman, using recycled wood. It's a dramatic work, which can brighten any living space, from a child's bedroom to a bathroom!

The sculpture measures 67 x 31cm and is 5cm thick and is made using found, recycled wood.

Please Note: This artwork is actually £40.00, but we have had to add £8 to the price of the item to cover extra postage via ParcelForce. This is due to its weight and size.  Shopify will add the usual postage charge at checkout, but this wouldn't have covered the postage costs which is why we added £8.00 to the sale price here. So sorry - Postage and Shopify complexities have forced us to do this.

Please note, we can only post this item to addresses in the UK.

About Nic:
Nic Newman lives in the south west of Cornwall, on a hill overlooking Mounts Bay. His passion for creation is based in real life experiences. When the whales returned to our waters he immortalised them in these beautiful wooden creations; when a basking shark swam past him just metres from the shore, they became paintings; and when, on his daily swims at his local beach, seals popped up to say “Hello, who are you?”, they became joyous creations in wood and stone, often surrounded by hearts of love.  Nic has travelled to many places and has been lucky enough to experience sea mammals of all descriptions in their natural environments - dolphins leaping in sunsets, sperm whales swimming by, and stunning orca - which all become lovingly represented in his art. After a career in social care, Nic now spends his days taking breath-taking photographs; caring for the natural environment; cleaning the beaches; surveying seals for the Seal Research Trust and creating these beautiful items.

His motivation is to inspire others to love and protect the inhabitants of the ocean.
